Family photography on the Jersey Shore
Your people. This moment.
On-location family portraits on the Jersey Shore — on the beach or beside the ocean. Warm, unhurried photographs of the people you love.

Sand, sea air, and everyone together. Family sessions on the Jersey Shore leave room for a walk by the water, children exploring, and portraits that feel like time well spent together.
CJ Studios photographs families on location on the Jersey Shore. Grandparents, newborns and everyone in between — a little room to play, time to settle in, and photographs that feel like your family.

An editorial approach
Kids rarely sit still, and that is exactly as it should be. We keep things relaxed, work around naps and snacks, and catch the in-between moments — those are often the photographs families love most.
We don't force smiles; we wait for them. Our goal is to capture your family exactly as you are right now, in a place that feels like yours.

Common questions
On location, never in a studio — at your home, in your backyard, or at a park, lake or beach you choose. We photograph families on the Jersey Shore and throughout New Jersey.
You choose: 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours. Thirty minutes suits a quick update with parents and kids; an hour gives the whole family, each child on their own and the parents together time to breathe; two hours is for grandparents, cousins and the whole family tree, or more than one spot.
A fully edited gallery of your best photographs, each one retouched by hand in Photoshop — natural skin, true color, nothing over-filtered. If you want the session in print, ask about our album options.
Yes. Once you have seen your gallery we will walk you through the album options, so the photographs end up on a shelf and not only on a phone.
Coordinate rather than match: pick two or three colors that sit well together, keep patterns and logos small, and choose clothes everyone can move and sit in. Comfortable kids make for happier pictures.
They rarely do, and that is fine. We keep things relaxed, work around naps and snacks, and catch the in-between moments — those are often the photographs families love most.
For outdoor sessions, the softest light is usually the last hour or two before sunset. At home, mid-morning window light works beautifully. We will suggest a time when we plan your session.
Early morning or the hour before sunset, when the light is soft and the beach is quiet. With little ones, mornings usually go best, while everyone is rested. Island Beach State Park is one of our favorite spots.
Send us a message with who is coming, the session length you have in mind and where you would love to shoot. Fall is the busiest season for family photos, so the earlier you reach out, the more dates there are to choose from.
