Bar Mitzvah Photographer in New Jersey
Most of a bar mitzvah happens where a camera has to behave. The aliyah is in shul, the leining is the reason everyone came, and neither is a place to be walking around with a flash. So the work is done with long glass from the back, quietly, and the picture that matters most — his face at the amud, the throw, his father's expression — is taken by somebody who knew when to be looking and did not need to move to do it.
Then the seudah, which is a different job entirely: the speeches, the grandparents, the friends from his class who will be in his life for the next fifty years, and dancing that gets serious around the third song. We photograph bar mitzvahs across New Jersey — Lakewood, Toms River, Jackson, Cherry Hill, Teaneck — and film them with the same team, so there is one set of people to talk to and one set of people in the room.
