Bat Mitzvah Photographer in New York City

The photographs a girl keeps from her bas mitzvah are of people, and almost none of them are of the room. That sounds obvious and it is routinely got wrong: a set comes back full of beautifully lit tablescapes and thin on the twelve girls who have been her friends since first grade.

We shoot it the other way round. Portraits of her early, while everything is exactly as planned. Her with her mother, her grandmothers, her sisters. The speech, and the thirty seconds after the speech, which is usually the best frame of the night. Her friends, properly, not as a wide shot of a table. Then the dancing. Manhattan rooms are dark and want lighting brought in rather than pushed ISO, and we bring it. One in-house team covers both photography and film.
