Jewish Wedding Photographer in New York City

A Manhattan or Queens Jewish wedding is a different physical problem from a New Jersey one. The rooms are smaller and taller, the ceilings do not bounce light the way a Lakewood ballroom does, the load-in is through a service entrance with a timed elevator, and there is frequently nowhere outdoors to put a chuppah — which changes how the ceremony has to be lit, not whether it can be.

We work in the city regularly and plan for it: lighting brought for the room rather than the room being blamed, a walk-through of the space beforehand where the venue allows one, and a schedule built around the fact that nothing in Manhattan loads in quickly. Photography and cinema come as one team, which in a small room is not a nicety — it is the difference between two crews backing into each other during the badeken and one crew that already agreed who has which corner.
