Filming a Jewish wedding is a different job from photographing one, and most of the difference is sound. The brachos under the chuppah, a father's words at the badeken, the speeches at the seudah and the music that carries the dancing are what make a wedding film worth watching again, and none of them can be recorded properly by a camera standing at the back of the room.

So the ceremony is planned for before anybody walks down: where the microphones go, who stands where, and how the film covers the chuppah without a videographer standing inside it. Separate dancing is filmed properly on both sides, and the mitzvah tantz, late and in very little light, is treated as the centre of the night rather than an afterthought. Cinema and photography come from one in-house team based in Toms River, so the two crews are one crew and nobody is backing into anybody during the badeken.
