Philadelphia's Jewish community is broad rather than uniform. A family on the Main Line in Bala Cynwyd or Wynnewood, a family in Elkins Park or Melrose Park, and a family in Northeast Philadelphia or Bucks County may keep a simcha very differently, and the shuls they belong to run from Orthodox to Reform. Someone searching for a Jewish photographer here is usually looking for one who will not need any of that explained.

So this page covers every occasion rather than one. For a wedding that means knowing the order of the evening: the tisch and the kabbalas panim, the badeken, the chuppah and the ketubah signing, and dancing that may be mixed or separate. For a bar or bat mitzvah it means asking early what the shul allows in the sanctuary, and planning a proper portrait session on another day when the answer is nothing. A bris happens with a week's notice and starts on time, and it gets covered like it.

We travel from New Jersey for Philadelphia simchas and treat the drive as our problem, not yours: on site early enough to see the room, and never billing travel as coverage. Photography and cinema come from one in-house team. If you already know your occasion, the Philadelphia wedding and bar and bat mitzvah pages go into more detail; if you are still deciding, look through the photographs and tell us what you are planning.
